SHIPPING AND STORAGE

In this section we will zoom into every part of the value chain that we are involved in and discuss what we have been doing currently to reduce polluting the environment. These practices are primarily to reduce the waste as much as possible while keeping the quality of the coffee intact. Right from storing the coffee to sending out coffee samples, This Side up tries to find a way to keep it clean. We store the coffees in our Rotterdam Warehouse and order samples to our Quality Control Lab in Amsterdam. We try to order multiple refills at Vollers who our partners in Rotterdam, instead of making it a weekly affair for just one or two of the samples. Further, with the green coffee samples that we receive in our Labs, we store them air tight bags so it lasts longer and it’s quality does not get affected.

Quality Control

The quality control lab in Amsterdam is a co-roasting facility made available by Amsterdam Coffee Roasters. We rent a small room which doubles up as our quality control lab and where we also store and send green/roasted samples to our clients. We have been actively finding ways to reduce waste in our lab.
