The impact in the TSU-niverse can be categorized into two major levels. At the producer level, the focus lies at understanding and visualizing the economics of their labor. Once that is in order, and we know they are earning sufficiently to fend for their business and families, it is also possible to further understand and learn about the social conditions of a context as well as the environmental growth conditions for coffee per origin. At a producer level, remuneration is the first point of impact that we directly influence by buying the coffees from these different origins at a price asked by the respective farmer for their produce. The stories from the origins that we have been gathering over the last few years is a way for us to strengthen our claims other than the numbers that you will see visualized in this page.
The internal impact part of the puzzle is majorly about the different practices we do as a company to make sure we can be truly sustainable. Right from co-sharing a space at Amsterdam Coffee Roasters, re-using boxes/bags whenever possible or using sustainable packages for all our coffee samples sent out, we do a lot more internally. Everyone at TSU earns the same wage/hour irrespective of their designation. The following sections will go into the depths of impact at producer and internal level.
